Azur Technology was founded in 2016 as an in-house technology team for Azur Underwriting and became an independent company in March 2023 through a management buyout backed by angel investors. In January 2026, the company raised GBP 13.3 million in Series B funding from AIG, Ascot Group, Hyperion Insurance Group, and Richard Little. To address the growth of the US MGA and program business sector -- where premium volume expanded from USD 17.5 billion in 2010 to USD 110.8 billion in 2024 -- Azur Technology opened a US headquarters in Washington, D.C. in December 2025.
