Armilla AI
Purpose-built AI liability coverage and risk assessment for enterprises deploying generative AI and AI agents.
Overview
Armilla AI is an AI liability MGA operating through broker partnerships to provide insurance coverage for businesses deploying generative AI systems and AI agents. Founded in 2020 by Dan Adamson and Karthik Ramakrishnan, the company targets enterprises across North America and Europe that face coverage gaps in standard cyber, technology E&O, and general liability policies when using AI-driven workflows.
Armilla underwrites through capacity provided by Chaucer Group as its primary carrier partner, with reinsurance support from Swiss Re, Greenlight Re, and AXIS Capital. Coverage limits reach up to USD 25M per policyholder, with a standalone AI liability product launched in April 2025. In February 2026, Armilla and Chaucer co-launched Vanguard AI, a coordinated coverage structure that combines primary cyber and technology E&O with standalone AI liability insurance.
The company distributes through an appointed broker network with dedicated training and co-marketing resources for distribution partners. Armilla has participated in Y Combinator (S21), Creative Destruction Lab, and Lloyd's Lab, and has raised a total of USD 25M+ across multiple rounds including a USD 25M Series A+ closed in January 2026.
