Overview
Argyle Insurance is a business and home insurance MGA distributing through a national network of broker partners to small-to-medium enterprises (SMEs) and homeowners in Australia. Founded in September 2022 by CEO Matthew Morgan and Managing Director Anthony Day, the company operates a hybrid underwriting agency model rather than selling direct to consumers.
The agency built its underwriting platform on Duck Creek Technologies' cloud-based SaaS core, covering policy administration, billing, rating, and data insights, and went live in under 60 working days with implementation support from systems integrator Coforge. Underwriting capacity for Argyle's business insurance line came from RAC Insurance through the end of 2024; Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance (trading locally as MSIG, part of MS&AD Insurance Group) took over as capacity provider from January 2025 under a multi-year agreement.
The MSIG capacity agreement raised Argyle's combined SME business insurance limits to AUD 7 million. In December 2024, investment firm Correlation took a minority strategic stake in Argyle to fund platform development, product expansion, and broker network growth, with founders retaining control of the business.
