Amenli

Amenli is a retail digital insurance brokerage serving consumers and small-to-medium businesses in Egypt. The company operates a web and mobile marketplace where customers can compare policies from multiple carriers and complete purchases across medical, automotive, home, business, travel, and life insurance lines.

The platform covers the full insurance lifecycle: online quoting with real-time pricing, eKYC-verified digital policy issuance, and claims coordination with carriers on behalf of policyholders. In addition to direct-to-consumer sales, Amenli operates a B2B2C channel through proprietary API integrations, enabling embedded insurance at checkout on e-commerce, banking, telecom, and ride-hailing platforms.

Amenli launched in 2020 and is licensed by Egypt's Financial Regulatory Authority (FRA). It participated in Y Combinator's S21 cohort and has raised a total of USD 5.6M across three rounds from investors including Global Founders Capital, EBRD Venture Capital, Alter Global, and Qatar Insurance Corp Digital Venture Partners. Year-over-year retail distribution partnerships grew 14x and SME offerings expanded 5x, reflecting adoption in a market where insurance penetration is approximately 1%.
