AlphaRe
Reinsurance carrier underwriting domestic P&C risk in Vietnam with AI-driven risk analytics.
Overview
AlphaRe (Alpha Reinsurance Joint Stock Company) is a privately-owned reinsurance carrier headquartered in Hanoi, Vietnam, writing domestic P&C reinsurance with a focus on large-scale industrial and infrastructure projects. Established in February 2026, the company is Vietnam's third dedicated reinsurer and the country's first 100% privately-owned Vietnamese reinsurance company, operating under the oversight of the Ministry of Finance.
The company applies domestically developed AI models to risk analytics and underwriting decisions. These models support program design, risk governance, and competitive positioning across complex risks such as renewable energy infrastructure. Operations are structured around four pillars: financial transparency and disciplined risk management, optimized program design, global reinsurance and broker network access, and integrated domestic-international market expertise.
AlphaRe launched with USD 19M in backing from undisclosed strategic shareholders, representing substantial capitalization for a new entrant in Vietnam's reinsurance market. Early operations are concentrated on domestic facultative reinsurance, with the company also pursuing captive reinsurance structures and ESG-aligned coverage programs.
