## Overview

Young Alfred is a digital insurance marketplace serving consumers directly, focused on home insurance comparison and purchase. Policies are compared with full fine print transparency -- side-by-side price and coverage details -- and can be bound digitally without agent involvement. Young Alfred launched a home insurance API in fall 2021 to extend these capabilities to third-party partners and integrators. The company does not sell customer data to third parties.

Young Alfred raised USD 365K in seed funding in January 2018, followed by a USD 10M Series A in October 2019 led by Gradient Ventures (Google's AI-focused venture fund), with participation from Pear Ventures, ERA Venture, and Newfund Capital. The platform had insured over USD 6 billion in property value prior to its acquisition. Credible Labs acquired Young Alfred in December 2021, integrating the insurance marketplace into Credible's consumer finance platform alongside personal loans, student loans, and mortgages.
