## Overview

Tempcover is a UK motor insurance MGA distributing temporary vehicle policies direct to consumers online and via mobile. The company covers car, van, and learner driver insurance for durations from one hour to 28 days and is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA).

The company underwrites on behalf of a panel of FCA-authorised UK insurers, providing limited binding authority across private motor, van, and learner driver lines. All policies are fully comprehensive as standard and are issued independently of the vehicle owner's annual policy, so the owner's no-claims bonus is unaffected.

Founded in 2006 by Alan Inskip, Tempcover completed a GBP 13.3M management buy-out in 2017 backed by Connection Capital, and was subsequently acquired by RVU (parent company of Confused.com, uSwitch, and Money.co.uk) in March 2022. The company has served over 3.7 million drivers and writes over 400,000 policies annually. Paul Gilshan was appointed CEO in January 2026 to lead the next growth phase.
