## Overview

Synspective is a Tokyo-based space technology company that develops, launches, and operates small Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) satellites and delivers cloud-based geospatial analytics to non-life insurers, government agencies, and commercial enterprises. Its primary insurance applications are flood and disaster damage assessment -- targeted at P&C carriers for rapid post-event claims triage and parametric insurance workflows.

The company operates the StriX SAR satellite constellation, a series of approximately 100kg satellites in Sun Synchronous Orbit that capture all-weather, day-and-night radar imagery. As of May 2026, eight StriX satellites are operational with a ninth scheduled for launch. The Yamato mass-production facility, opened in September 2024, produces up to 12 satellites per year to support a target constellation of 30 satellites by the late 2020s.

Synspective completed its IPO on the Tokyo Stock Exchange Growth Market in December 2024 (ticker: 290A), raising approximately USD 67M at an initial market capitalization of roughly USD 273M. Total funding across five rounds exceeds USD 244M. Strategic investors include Sompo Japan Insurance Inc., which is also a representative customer of the flood assessment solution. In 2026, Synspective formed new distribution partnerships with Airbus Defence and Space and SkyFi to expand global data access.

## Products & services

AI-enhanced SAR analysis that quantifies inundation area, depth, and impact to roads and buildings following flood events. Delivers primary information for damage evaluation and enables rapid decision-making for claims triage and parametric insurance payouts.

**Key features:**

- All\-weather, day\-and\-night imaging regardless of cloud cover or darkness
- AI\-driven change detection comparing pre\- and post\-event SAR imagery
- Inundation area and depth quantification for roads and buildings
- Parametric insurance trigger support

*Target users:* Non\-life insurance carriers, emergency management agencies, government disaster response organizations

### Disaster Damage Assessment \(DDA\)

Evaluates infrastructure damage from earthquakes and other natural disasters using SAR imagery change analysis. Used for post-event recovery planning and insurance loss assessment.

**Key features:**

- Rapid post\-event damage mapping
- Infrastructure impact quantification
- Integration with disaster response workflows

*Target users:* Non\-life insurance carriers, government agencies, emergency management organizations
