## Overview

Rnwl (pronounced "renewal") is a Cambridge-based insurtech that built an AI-driven digital insurance wallet enabling consumers to consolidate, track, and manage all of their insurance policies in a single app. Founded in 2019 by serial entrepreneur Goncalo de Vasconcelos (previously co-founder of SyndicateRoom), Rnwl positions itself as the first over-the-top insurance layer -- sitting above existing insurers rather than replacing them.

The platform automatically organizes policy details, renewal dates, documents, and costs across all lines of insurance, then sends proactive reminders to prevent unwanted auto-renewals and help users make informed coverage decisions. Beyond pure insurance management, the app also covers vehicle administration tasks including MOT reminders, road tax renewals, and breakdown support.

In March 2025, Future plc (the media and price comparison group that owns Go.Compare) acquired RNWL Ltd for initial consideration of GBP 2.8M with contingent consideration estimated at GBP 5.3M -- and potential earn-outs that could bring total consideration to GBP 63M over five years. The acquisition was designed to accelerate Go.Compare's customer loyalty strategy. Rnwl's technology has been rebranded as "Renewal" at myrenewal.app.
