## Overview

OPES Insurance Joint Stock Company is a digital-only non-life (P&C) carrier operating in Vietnam, originally incorporated as Vietnam Prosperity Insurance Joint Stock Company before adopting the OPES name on June 19, 2018. The company is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Vietnam Prosperity Joint-Stock Commercial Bank (VPBank), one of Vietnam's largest commercial banks, and distributes insurance products exclusively through digital channels -- enabling customers to purchase policies and manage claims via any internet-connected device.

OPES runs its core P&C operations on the Sapiens IDITSuite v19.1 platform, deployed on Microsoft Azure -- the first global deployment of that version, completed in a seven-month implementation that went live in early 2024. For auto insurance, the company uses the IMS OneApp SDK and IMS Wedge Bluetooth IoT sensor to power O-Car, a smartphone-based telematics product calibrated for Vietnam's traffic conditions. Products are distributed both directly through OPES digital channels and through embedded partnerships with third-party platforms including Zalopay, Lotte Finance, FE Credit, and the Be ridesharing app.

The company has scaled rapidly since founding. In 2024, OPES reported over 410 million cumulative digital insurance contracts issued, over 20 million accumulated customers, revenue of more than VND 3,200 billion (up 96% year-over-year), and pre-tax profit of VND 473 billion (up 203% year-over-year). Charter capital was increased from VND 1,265 billion to VND 1,900 billion in late 2024, placing OPES among the four non-life insurers with the largest charter capital in the Vietnamese market.
