## Overview

mTek is a digital insurance distribution platform serving consumers and businesses in Kenya and East Africa. The platform allows users to compare quotes, purchase policies, and manage coverage across motor, health, life, phone, and travel insurance products sourced from over 45 integrated insurers.

The platform operates as both a direct consumer channel and a white-label B2B2C solution for banks, brokers, agents, and corporate partners. mTek offers REST API integration and a white-labeled web interface, enabling businesses to embed insurance products into their own services. Founded in 2019, mTek grew to more than 350,000 registered customers before being acquired by Singapore-based insurtech bolttech in December 2025. Prior to the acquisition, the company raised USD 5.76M across a Series A and a subsequent growth round. The existing leadership team, including CEO Bente Krogmann, continues to oversee East Africa operations under bolttech.
