Founded in 2017 by Matteo Carbone and operating under the legal entity Digital Tech S.r.l., it brings together senior executives from insurers, reinsurers, and IoT ecosystem companies to analyze sensor-based data collection and telematics applications in auto, home, health, and commercial insurance lines. The Observatory runs distinct North American and European editions, delivering annual research programs, one-to-one advisory workshops, and plenary symposiums hosted at member headquarters. Over nine years of operation, it has conducted 36 plenary symposiums across both regions and produced annual summary reports, a book on the InsurTech paradigm, and joint research with organizations such as The Geneva Association on IoT risk prevention. Membership spans nearly 100 organizations across more than 15 countries, including 5 of the top 6 global reinsurers, 11 of the top 15 European insurers, and 10 of the top 15 US P&C insurers.
