## Overview

Intact Insurance Lab (Intact Lab) is the innovation and AI center of Intact Financial Corporation, Canada's largest property and casualty insurer. Founded in the 2013-2015 timeframe, the Lab has grown to 600+ professionals including data scientists, machine learning engineers, AI specialists, actuaries, and UX designers, operating from offices in Montreal, Toronto, and Hong Kong. The Lab generates estimated annual business savings exceeding CAD 100 million for the Intact group.

The Lab drives Intact's technology transformation across fraud detection, predictive pricing, telematics, claims automation, and digital product development. With 40+ AI and machine learning models deployed in production and over 120 AI/ML experts, the Lab is recognized as Canada's leading insurance AI organization. In 2019, Intact expanded internationally with the opening of a Hong Kong Lab at the Hong Kong Science and Technology Park, serving as the group's first AI and data R&D center outside Canada.

Intact Lab also operates Intact Ventures, a strategic investment arm that backs InsurTech companies redefining the P&C landscape, and the team has made notable investments and acquisitions including Jiffy Inc. (2024) and Alert Labs.
