## Overview

Galileo Platforms is a blockchain-based policy administration platform for carriers, distributors, and reinsurers operating in Asian insurance markets. The company connects participants in the insurance ecosystem through a shared ledger, enabling straight-through digital processing for life, health, and general insurance products.

The platform is built on Quorum, JPMorgan's permissioned Ethereum fork, and uses smart contracts to automate policy lifecycle management including initiation, underwriting, claims processing, and servicing. By storing policy records on a shared distributed ledger, the system eliminates manual reconciliation between ecosystem participants and reduces processing errors.

Founded by industry veterans Mark Wales and Annette King, Galileo raised USD 3.2M in Series A funding led by Greenlight Re, a reinsurer that also became a strategic partner. Singlife Philippines deployed the platform as its core policy administration system in 2020, becoming one of the first insurers to run production workloads on a blockchain-based PA system.
