## Overview

CUVRO is a white-label insurance distribution platform for brokers, agents, carriers, and MGAs, selling life, pet, travel, and critical-illness insurance in Puerto Rico. The company describes itself as the first fully Puerto Rican digital general insurance agency, and its platform is sponsored by POP LLC, a general agency licensed by the Insurance Commissioner's Office of Puerto Rico.

The platform gives producers a branded digital storefront with real-time API connections into carrier systems for quoting, binding, and policy management, replacing manual, paper-based sales processes. CUVRO currently offers seven live insurance products: locally underwritten pet insurance, two life insurance products, one travel insurance product, and three critical-illness and cancer policies, with stated plans to expand into home, auto, and electronics coverage.

CUVRO was launched in November 2022 as POP Insured by cofounders Gabriel Casellas and César Campillo, rebranding to CUVRO in 2023 alongside the launch of its pet insurance line. The company is bootstrapped, funded by an initial USD 200K founder investment plus an accelerator grant, and was selected for Parallel18's Generation 11 startup accelerator in 2023. As of an August 2023 profile, it had built personalized platforms for five producers and agencies, with carrier and distribution partners including Chubb, Mapfre, Assurant, Marsh, and HUB International.
