Launched in Ontario in July 2018, CAA MyPace was the first pay-per-kilometre auto insurance program in Canada, designed for low-mileage drivers who cover fewer than 9,000 to 12,000 kilometres per year. The program operates on a two-part pricing model: a base rate covering the vehicle while not in use, plus incremental charges billed in 1,000-kilometre blocks purchased in advance. An OBD-II plug-in telematics device tracks kilometres driven and transmits data via cellular signal to CAA servers.
